One of the focal points of the detoxification process is to address and fix what your body cannot do, but should otherwise be able to do under normal circumstances.
Any person should be able to digest raw fruits and tender leafy greens with ease. You should also be capable of digesting most other vegetables so there are no undigested food particles in your stools (with the exception of corn). Same goes for higher fat-content foods (nuts, seeds, avocado, olives, durian fruit, etc.).
See undigested food in your stools? Then the following are some areas you should look at:
- Stomach
- Pancreas (problems digesting carbohydrate foods?) (also consider inadequate production of sodium bicarbonate to neutralize hydrochloric acid)
- Liver and gallbladder (problems digesting fatty foods?)
- Small intestines
It's also important to consider:
- proper food combining
- chewing your food thoroughly enough
Sometimes this means you'll have to work your way through with juices, fruit smoothies, raw or warm soups and the like, while strengthening the organs and/or glands involved until you can properly digest food again.
Go through the Self-Assessment Health Questionnaire and chances are you'll gain a better idea of what’s going on.
