Dr. Morse uses glandular therapy supplements (or simply "glandulars") as part of protocols for cases where he has identified severe chronic weaknesses, typically involving the kidneys and adrenal glands.

They're used temporarily to provide an initial boost or to rebuild severe atrophy or surgical damage in the corresponding glands or organs.

Glandulars are made from raw animal glands and organs. The most common sources are bovine (cow), ovine (sheep), and porcine (pig).

The glands are freeze-dried to preserve their nutritional value and ground into a powder to make capsules or tablets.

As therapeutic supplements, they're a natural and inexpensive way to specifically target and support the functioning of your own glands and organs by providing the necessary nutrients and other materials. For instance, taking a kidney glandular can help enhance your kidneys.[1][2]

Glandulars are often used to support the liver, pancreas, thyroid, kidneys, or adrenal glands.[3]

How Glandulars Work

Dr. Morse believes they work through a mechanism of "glandular imprinting".

The basic idea is when we consume glandular extracts from a healthy animal, our own glands or organs receive a vibrational imprint of what "healthy function" looks like. This imprint then stimulates our glands/organs into normalizing their function and output.

There may be an energetic exchange involved between the animal tissue extract and our body's cells. The animal glandular's healthy vibration and frequency pattern teaches our body's glands how they should function ideally.

For this reason, the quality and compatibility of the glandular product is very important, as is sourcing glandulars from healthy, grass-fed animals with minimal processing for maximum vitality.

Dr. Morse sees glandular therapy as a way to re-establish cellular communication in our endocrine system. The imprinting effect helps optimize hormone production and output, balances the interplay between glands, and enhances sensitivity to feedback mechanisms.

Why Use Glandulars When We Have Herbs?

Since they come from animals, not everyone is fond of glandulars.

Also, it can initially be confusing for some to hear Dr. Morse describe meat as acidic and harmful, but then he uses glandulars as part of the Regenerative Detoxification protocols.

Let's go over the main reasons Dr. Morse started and many years later still uses glandulars:

Deeper Genetic Weaknesses with Each Passing Generation

Dr. Morse spent years studying the works of healers, Natural Hygienists, raw food pioneers, fruitarian diet advocates, and fasting experts of the 18- and early 1900s.

Their works reflect a time when basic lifestyle changes, sufficient diet adjustment, and in some cases, fasting was enough to produce remarkable healing results reliably.

People were generally more robust with stronger genetics and body systems. For various reasons, this has sadly headed in a downward trend, with each subsequent generation being more compromised than the prior.

Between his earlier years of clinic practice and today, Dr. Morse began using herbs heavily because diet and fasting alone eventually weren't as reliable as they used to be, especially with the younger generations.

Dr. Morse eventually faced a growing number of clients with adrenals, kidneys and overall body systems so deeply compromised they were responding poorly or not at all to the herbal protocols.

That's when glandulars were incorporated as an additional tool for such cases of severe chronic weaknesses.

Used appropriately, glandulars can provide an initial boost to speed up the healing process.

Glandulars Are Relatively Inexpensive

While not a replacement for an herbal program, glandulars can sometimes be a more affordable way to target specific organs and glands like the adrenals, thyroid, kidneys, pancreas, etc.

In the long-term, they can bring down the cost of a protocol by helping restore glands and organs quicker.

Considering the amount of Animal Material Ingested, Acidosis is Unlikely

Instead of eating typical servings of 50-100+ grams of cooked meat at least once daily, you're taking milligrams or single-digit grams of desiccated raw animal tissue.

That's a low enough amount to rule out acidosis while sufficient enough to deliver positive results such as restoring adrenal and kidney function for lymph filtration.

Glandulars Aren't Perfect for Every Situation

Like any tool, there are precautions with glandulars, such as:

  • product quality (glandulars from questionable sources); and
  • tissue hyperstimulation if taking too high dosages or too frequently.

For instance, an adrenal glandular can be highly stimulating in sensitive individuals, resulting in anxiety or heart palpitations even at the lowest dosage. Therefore, they should always be used in cooperation with a Detoxification Specialist or other professional with relevant experience.

Start with low doses and watch for side effects. Long-term use can lead to overstimulation, addiction, and withdrawal, so use them briefly and wisely.[4]
